I am an emerging artist currently completing my Bachelor of Visual Art Degree at Adelaide Central School of Art whilst living on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. I am a founding member of Formspace Artist Collective in Adelaide. My practice extends to portraiture, still life and landscapes.
Living between the sea and the hills provides me with ever changing colour and quality of light as inspiration for my landscapes. Using both brush and palette knife my practice focuses on the exploration of the landscape both in the studio from family photographs of travels throughout Australia as well as en plein air.
My practice explores the beauty in the humble, often overlooked everyday object, the things and places we pass by without connecting. Through realistic representation with the use of oil paint and the infinite possiblities of the brushstroke I try to elevate that object or place to become noticed, to become more luminous and inspiring, something not to be dismissed, to become something with which we can connect. |
