I am a Melbourne based print maker and painter. After graduating from RMIT with a diploma of fashion design l spent most of my career in the fashion industry as a freelance fashion illustrator for various fashion houses of the time.
Painting began in 2000 choosing acrylic as my main medium often incorporating coloured pencil. Industrial and urban scenes, travelled landscapes and some still life make up my subject interest and inspiration.
My printmaking began with linocut limited edition work where a linear/patern image is carved out of lino suface (plate). The surface is then rolled with printing inks and put through a printing press to reveal your art work. The plate can be re inked and pressed, each pressed print numered making up variors edition amounts. This process inspired my return to fashion illustration and my love of line and pattern.
Mono printing allows so much expressive freedom, but only one print is usually pressed from its plate. Its painterly process is very exciting amd although fashion is still a favourite subject, our local bird life has also been totally inspiring.
I was thrilled to be a finalist in the Tacit Gallery Print Prize and St Kevins Omnia Prize the last couple of years.
