Based in the beautiful Adelaide Hills of South Australia, I have always been fascinated by nature. A combination of both natural and urban worlds form the inspiration for much of my work, portraying a rich and sometimes vivid inner world.
Painting is a journey of self discovery and introspection, and as I layer paint, I find more layers of self are revealed. Gestural marks evolve, and are removed, covered, and uncovered, giving the work an industrial, tactile texture.
As a child, I spent time studying at the Honolulu Academy of Art. Later on, back in South Australia, I studied at the Hyde Park School of Art & Design, the Adelaide Central School of Art, and UniSA. Recently, I have attended Nicholas Wilton’s Art2Life ‘Creative Visionary Program’, and Louise Fletcher’s ‘Find Your Joy’ program.
Previously a member of the Burnside Painting Group, I am currently a member of the Art2Life Academy, and the ‘Art Tribe‘ artist communities.
Inspired by nature and the urban landscape, my work is constantly evolving; balancing colour, value, subtlety, and boldness, endevouring to impart a feeling of resilience and vulnerability.
