Biography

Bridie began making sculptures in clay but has shifted to fibre, particularly discarded clothing, fabric and haberdashery. She uses a wire armature to form the animal shape, which is stuffed with soft plastic destined for landfill. These are then wrapped in fabric strips. Bride creates non-traditional weaving inspired by Australian landscapes and she incorporates material from these landscapes into her pieces.
